The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum is offering special rates for children 5 to 17 and for the families of U.S. military families this summer.
The promotions are from Memorial Day (May 27) through Labor Day (Sept. 2).
In conjunction with the Las Cruces Convention and Visitors Bureauís Las Cruces Explorers Kids Club, the museum is offering half-price admission for children 5 to 17. Instead of the usual $2 admission fee, they will be admitted for only $1. Children 4 and under are admitted free.
The Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum also is taking part in the Blue Star Museums Program, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star families, the Department of Defense, and a record-breaking 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nationís active duty military personnel, including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Leadership support has been provided by MetLife Foundation through Blue Star Families. The program provides families an opportunity to enjoy the nation's cultural heritage and learn more about their new communities after completing a military move.
U.S. military veterans (active and retired) always receive free admission at the Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, but this program includes the immediate families (spouse and children) as well. The museum is expanding the offering to also include the spouses of retired U.S. military veterans. Military identifications are required.
