2014 Summer Camps!

Fun with Fiber: June 3, 4, and 5
10 AM to 1:30 PM. Open to ages 8-12
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
Learn the basics of spinning, weaving, welt felting, and fiber dyeing. Visit the Museumís animals and join us for a fun exploration of wool crafting. Deadline is May 29.
Please bring lunch every day.

Cooking Creations: June 10, 11, and 12
10 AM to Noon. Open to ages 5-7
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
Learn how to make ice cream, cornbread, biscuits and more! We will be using the Museumís adobe-brick oven to make pizza! Deadline is June 5.

Museums 101: June 17, 18, and 19
10 AM to 1 PM. Open to ages 9-15
$30 for non-members, $25 for members
Discover what happens behind the scenes at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum. Explore our collections area, learn how to design an exhibit, and create a living history performance. Deadline is June 12.

Farming and Gardening 101: June 24, 25, and 26
10 AM to Noon open to ages 5-8
1 PM to 3 PM open to ages 9-14
$30 for non-members, $25 for members
Get your hands dirty! Learn the origin of Agriculture and how it has developed over the years. The Museumís greenhouse will be utilized and topics covered will include water conservation, gardening, and composting. Deadline is June 19.

Nature Camp: July 8, 9, and 10
9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Open to ages 8-11
$30 for non-members, $25 for members
Come discover the great outdoors. Learn about birds, plants, critters, and all things nature!! We will take morning nature hikes and discover the wildlife around the museum. There will be animal visitors in the classroom too. Deadline is July 3.

Writing with Light, The Wonders of Photography: July 15, 16, and 17
10 AM to 2 PM. Open to ages 8-12
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
Discover the art of creating and composing great photographs! From Pinhole to Digital, weíll learn both historic and modern methods for making images. Then using cyanotype paper, weíll learn some of the most basic, yet beautiful ways to print those images. Each student needs to bring their own digital camera and flash drive. The class will provide pinhole cameras, film, and cyanotype photo paper & fabric, which the students will take with them. Deadline for deposit is July10.

Cowboy 101: July 22, 23, and 24
10 AM to Noon open to ages 5-8
1 PM to 3 PM open to ages 9-14
$25 for non-members, $20 for members
Put on your boots and grab your rope, itís time to hit the trail! Learn the cowboy way as you stamp leather, eat some chuck wagon grub, tell a tall tale and mosey around our South 20. Deadline is July 17.

Archaeology Camp: July 29, 30, and 31
10 AM to 1 PM. Open to ages 7-12
$30 for non-members, $25 for members
Explore the early Southwestern world and how people once lived and survived. You will become a detective as we piece together puzzles from the past and learn how to use the tools of the archaeologist. Wear clothes suitable for digging! Deadline is July 24.
Please bring a lunch every day.

Pre-registration and a non-refundable deposit of $5 is required for each class.
