Planning Your Visit
A visit to the Museum provides several hours of fun combined with learning. With many exhibits and demonstrations -- indoors and outside -- there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Visitors of all ages will enjoy the demonstrations, such as milking and blacksmithing, as well as our livestock tours. The demonstration schedule is subject to change, so please call ahead or check with the front desk to learn about that day's schedule.
Many of the museum's attractions are outdoors, so visitors are encouraged to take precautions against the sun, especially during the summer months, and dress warmly in the winter. Also, don't forget to bring your camera.
The barns on the "South 20" portion of the campus close at 4 p.m. each day. Visitors may still walk to see the livestock until 5 p.m.
Eagle Ranch Mercantile has a variety of souvenir and gift ideas, as well as beverages and snacks. We have spacious parking lot that is ideal for motorcoaches, RVs, and trailers; however, there is no overnight parking or camping allowed.
Pets are not allowed at the museum because of the animals already on site. Travelers with pets are asked to keep them in their vehicle, if possible, during their visit.
There are several fine hotels within 5 miles of the Museum and visitors are encouraged to also visit historic Old Mesilla and Fort Selden State Monument while in the Las Cruces area. For more information on local attractions, visit www.ExploreLasCruces.com..
