Antidotes

Seeing Beauty, Finding Connection | Elizabeth Harvey Abrams

Elizabeth Harvey Abrams grew up in Alamogordo and Las Cruces with more than 100 years of family history ranching in New Mexico. After a 15-year career in government and related work in Washington, D.C., Harvey Abrams returned to Las Cruces where she now practices as a mental health counselor focusing on grief, trauma, and ecotherapy.

“As a nature photographer and interdisciplinary artist, I think about photography as a practice that contributes to my own journey of reconnecting with the landscape of the Chihuahuan Desert. Photography provides a lens to see the land and animals with love, care, and attention, while acknowledging our interdependence. This is my way of contemplating the mutual antidotes humans and nature might be able offer each other for facing the unique challenges of our time.”
