Planning Your Visit

A visit to the Museum provides several hours of fun combined with learning. With many exhibits indoors and outside -- there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Many of the museum’s attractions are outdoors, so visitors are encouraged to take precautions against the sun, especially during the summer months, and dress warmly in the winter. Photography is encouraged at the Museum and feel free to use the hashtag #nmfarmandranch if posting on social media.

Heart of the Desert Gift Shop has a variety of souvenir and gift ideas, as well as beverages and snacks. We have spacious parking lot that is ideal for motorcoaches, RVs, and trailers; however, there is no overnight parking or camping allowed.

Pets are not allowed in the Museum’s buildings, Heritage Garden, Children’s Discovery Garden, Courtyard or across the bridge where the Museum’s livestock are located. Pets are allowed in the parking lot and visitors are asked to keep them on a leash. There is some shade in the parking lot, and a grassy area on the northwest part of the lot for visitors to walk their pets.

There are several fine hotels within 5 miles of the Museum and visitors are encouraged to also visit historic Old Mesilla, the Organ Mountain-Desert Peaks National Monument, and Fort Selden Historic Site while in the Las Cruces area. For more information on local attractions, visit www.lascrucescvb.org..
