Summer Camps 2019

Registration begins online at on May 1.

Art at the Museum: June 4, 5, 6
9:30 AM to 12 PM (Ages 13-17)
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
This introductory art workshop will cover the basics of block printmaking and teach students how to continue to create works at home. We will print on paper, sticker material, and fabric . Note that we will work with sharp tools and permanent inks. Please dress accordingly. All supplies included. *Deadline to register is May 30*

Can You Dig it: June 11, 12, 13
10 AM to 1 PM (Ages 11-14)
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
Have you ever wondered what an archaeologist does? Learn about locating sites, the excavation process, and where artifacts go after they have been discovered. Please bring a lunch, a hat, and sunscreen every day. *Deadline to register is June 6*

Exploring Nature: June 18, 19, 20
9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (Ages 9-12)
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
Participants will learn about the wildlife that lives around the Museum and the native plants that make up the landscape. Students will play games, make sun prints, and finish the camp with a recyclable art project. Please bring a lunch, a hat, and sunscreen every day. *Deadline to register is June 13*

Living History: June 25, 26, 27
9:30 AM to 11:30 AM (Ages 7-11)
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
Do you have the skills to survive in the past? Learn how to grind corn, dip candles, spin wool, and more, while discovering New Mexico history. *Deadline to register is June 20*

Wonders of Wool: July 9, 10, 11
9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Ages 7-11)
$35 for non-members, $30 for members
Ever wonder how a sheep’s fleece is transformed into fabric? Students will prepare wool from the Museum’s sheep and learn to spin, dye, and weave. Please bring a lunch every day. *Deadline to register is July 4*

Little Farmers Story Time: July 23, 24, 25
9:30 AM to 11:30 AM (Ages 5-8)
$30 for non-members, $25 for members
Do you love farm animals? Join us for farm animal story time and crafts, then visit with the animals at the Museum and build your own farm! *Deadline to register is July 18*
