New Mexico’s state-run museums and historic sites, including the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces, are offering free admission to furloughed federal employees and their families during the government shutdown.

“New Mexico’s Department of Cultural Affairs is opening doors at all of our facilities to furloughed federal government workers and their families,” said Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) cabinet secretary, Debra Garcia y Griego. “Our goal is to support the furloughed worker.”

The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum is located at 4100 Dripping Springs Road in Las Cruces and features animals, demonstrations, indoor and outdoor exhibits, art galleries and a gift shop and snack bar.

DCA will be offering free admission at all properties to any federal employee with a photo ID, and their family.
