Special Events

Experience all the Museum has to offer and much, much more. Join us at one the many exciting events held at the Museum throughout the year.

At every large event at the Museum, you will encounter characters from history or have the opportunity to imagine time traveling to the past. Living history is an important part of Museum events and programs.

Cowboy Days (March)

Cowboy Days is the Museum’s annual tribute to New Mexico’s ranching traditions. Each year, living history is a big part of the event.

Blessing of the Fields (May)

Celebrate New Mexico’s rich traditions by joining the Museum’s procession to bless the fields or enjoying one of the many activities that take place on this day.

Ice Cream Sunday (July)

Enjoy the fun of summertime by making your own tin can ice cream, competing in an ice cream sandwich eating contest or or play old-fashioned games.
